I read Cheryl's newsletter today and I admit I do not practice shooting or carry as much as I should. I own a Taurus Millenium, 40 cal. I like the pistol but if I had to do it all over again I would have purchased a Springfield XD 9mm. The trigger pull is much smoother. There are many holsters out there. I was wondering if anyone has a holster preference [ ankle, shoulder, waist]? With that said I commit to getting out to Hot Wells to pracice and carrry more often. : |

I have been using a Don Hume leather IWB holster for my Springfield XD-9 Subcompact for nearly two years now. I wear it at about the 2 o'clock position. Of course that dictates that I wear a shirt-tail-out shirt, but fortunately such shirts are still in fashion, more or less. I always have a black tshirt underneath. This holster is the Don Hume H-715 and is available for many handguns. It has a single large black steel belt clip which as so far never come off accidentally.
After two years, the holster still holds pretty securely, but it is looser than when new. For that reason, I think the next time, I'll get one with a thumb break safety strap.
I also have an Uncle Mike's that I have modified as a tuckable for those situations where I must be more formal with a white shirt, tie, and coat or suit. I am not completely confident in a tucked shirt carry in terms of ability to get to the gun in an emergency, but that's still better than being left in the car!
Hope this helps.
